We are in full swing of The Second Annual National Cookie Week and boy does it feel good! My sources tell me that Amy’s bread and Billy’s Bakery both sold out of their cookie of the day, tweets are coming in in droves and there even was a fabulous article written up about me and on of the participating bakeries!!! You can check that out here… Center Square Journal! On to The Kitchen Gaily’s second cookie of cookie week!

Inspired by last year’s Gayest Cookie in Town! we couldn’t be called The Kitchen Gaily if cookie week didn’t have a fabulously gay cookie! This cookie was inspired by Tiffany’s jewels and stained glass. So delicate, so beautiful and simple!

So without further adieu I give you

2. Beat in egg yolks, vanilla and orange zest.

3. In a separate bowl whisk together flour, baking powder and salt

4. In sections stir dry ingredients into the butter mixture till combined!

5. Grab a little less than a tablespoon of dough in your hands and roll it into a ball.

6. Drop ball in bowl of rainbow sugar, coat and transfer to your baking sheet.

7. Bake for about 8 minutes or until they start to look gold and a little dry.

let them rest for a bit before transferring to a cooling rack and Patti Lupone you are finished!

These will brighten up any tea party, are fun and easy to make with the kids and will get that knot out of grandma’s panties!!

I have to thank Keith Oberlin for sticking with me and taking great photos! They are all his copyright 2012.

Billy’s Bakery announced that their cookie of the day is a lemon sugar cookie! I wonder if they covered theirs in rainbow sugar too?!?! hmmm….

Deliciously Living,
